José Carlos Alves Filho

Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2002), master's degree (2005) and doctorate (2007) in Pharmacology from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo and post-doctorate from the Institute of Infection , Immunity and Inflammation - University of Glasgow. He is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at FMRP-USP. Member of the Brazilian Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, the Brazilian Society of Immunology and the British Society for Immunology. He has experience in immunopharmacology and immunoregulation. His line of research aims to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate inflammation and the immune response and how these can be used as therapeutic targets for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.
