Mike Fowler
University of Portsmouth
A teacher of geology and chemistry for more than 30 years (~1000 BSc plus ~100 MSc students), and supervisor of 18 PhDs so far. Long term research interests in granite petrogenesis, environmental geoscience and “dusty” forensics have resulted in more than 100 academic publications and reports for industry partners. A new lease of life since retirement (from teaching) has me involved with “non-traditional” stable isotopes with the considerable help of Chinese and Brazilian friends. My current research project “Heavy element stable isotope constraints on ancient subduction chemical dynamics” is modestly supported by the Royal Society (International Exchange Scheme).
