CLAUDIO VALERIANO
Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ)

Dr Valeriano graduated in Geology (1981) and obtained MSc (1984) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro; his PhD degree at the University of São Paulo (1993) involved isotope geochronology (Rb-Sr, K-Ar) and geochemistry. In 2000 his post-doctoral fellowship at the GEOTOP laboratories of the University of Quebec at Montreal, Canada, involved ID TIMS U-Pb geochronology. From 2004 on, he has been leading the installation and development of the LAGIR - Laboratory of Geochronology and Radiogenic Isotopes (www.lagir.com.br), of the Rio de Janeiro State University, where research in crustal evolution, igneous petrogenesis and in sedimentary provenance is developed with focus on the TIMS techniques.
