He obtained a master's degree in geology (1983) and a PhD in geochronology from the Université de Montpellier II (Sciences et Techniques du Languedoc - France) (1986). He completed a post-doctoral program at the French Geological Survey (BRGM – Orléans, France (1998). He is a full professor at the Federal University of Pará and carries out research activities at the Isotopic Geology Laboratory of the Institute of Geosciences. He has experience in the field of isotope geochemistry and radiometric dating. He develops research in the thematic of "Geochronology and crustal evolution", carrying out geochronological and geodynamic studies of Precambrian terrains mainly in the Amazonian Craton, with emphasis to the southeastern part of the Guiana Shield. He also works on the thematic "Applied isotope geochemistry", carrying out studies with radiogenic isotopes in the fields of coastal and marine geology, and environmental geochemistry.
