Tony Preston

Tony Preston arrived in Rio De Janeiro in January 2020 to take up the role of Deputy Consul-General and Deputy Director for Trade and Investment for the UK in Brazil. Tony joined the UK’s Diplomatic Service in 2002. He has previously worked in Indonesia, Japan and Myanmar. In the latter role he led the UK’s work in Myanmar that sought, in partnership with local and British institutions, to increase exports and investment, open markets, ensure equitable access to resources and promote sustainable growth. Prior to working for the UK civil service Tony was a journalist, and spent time teaching English in central China. He is based in Brazil with his wife and daughter.
