19th National Meeting of Researchers in Journalism

Due to the prolonged state of the COVID-19 crisis and based on guidelines from health authorities and protocols recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Brazilian Association of Journalism Researchers (SBPJor), due to logistics and particularly to the safety and well-being of its associates, will hold its 19th National Meeting of Journalism Researchers and its 11th Meeting of Young Journalism Researchers (JPJOR) remotely, supported by information and communication technologies.

The 19th National Meeting of Journalism Researchers aims to bring together researchers from the academic field of journalism in different stages of training to promote a pluralist viewpoint on the emerging problems in journalism. This edition marks the first time that papers may be presented in the forms of Free Communication, Coordinated Sessions, or Research Network Coordinated Sessions.

The Research Network Coordinated Sessions are aimed at research networks recognized by SBPJor. This year JORTEC, RENOI, RENAMI, TELEJOR, RADIOJOR and RETIJ are able to make proposals for coordinated tables that will be evaluated in accordance with the Science Council and the entity’s Executive Board. The proposals for the Coordinated Sessions and the Research Network Coordinated Sessions will both have distinctive timetables this year. The proposals for the Coordinated Sessions will be forwarded first. Once they have been approved participants will be able to submit their papers.

Notes for the Coordinated Sessions and the Research Network Coordinated Sessions must be submitted between
June 7st to July 18th, 2021

Coordinated Sessions and Research Network Coordinated Sessions which have been accepted will be released on
July 25th, 2021

Paper submissions
June 7st to August 15th, 2021

Papers selected will be published on
September 30th, 2021.

Deadline for registration fee for those who will present papers
October 10th, 2021

Event details will be published on
October 17th, 2021.

The 19th SBPJor and the 11th JPJor will be held from
November 9th to 12th, 2021
