Summary of the Scientific Standards of the XX Brazilian Congress of Biomechanics (XX CBB)

 

SUBMISSION OF THE ABSTRACT: Abstracts will only be received by online form through the participant area under the Scientific Work icon.

MAIN AUTHOR: Only the main author can submit the abstract.

CO-AUTHOR: Only the main author can indicate the co-authors of the work, and they must be registered in the system.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DATE: from September 15th to December 1st, 2022 until 11:59 pm (Brasilia time).

IMPORTANT: Abstracts sent by e-mail will not be accepted under any circumstances.

LANGUAGES: Portuguese, English or Spanish.

MODALITIES: Oral presentation and Poster.

Oral presentation and Poster: Submission of systematic review or meta-analysis and completed or ongoing experimental research. In the case of systematic review and meta-analysis submission, the PROSPERO registration number must be included in the abstract.

IMPORTANT The author may indicate the intended form of presentation; however, the scientific committee reserves the right to reclassify the thematic area and selected modality of the submitted abstract.

THEMATIC AREAS (TA): Each abstract proposal must be linked to only one of the Thematic Areas: clinical biomechanics; sport biomechanics; musculoskeletal biomechanics; teaching biomechanics; ergonomics, assistive technology and prosthetics; locomotion and posture; models and data analysis in biomechanics; and motor control. The choice of the subject area will be made by the first author at the time of submission of the abstract.

SUMMARY FILE: The file containing the abstract must be added to the submission platform.

IMPORTANT: Abstracts without the attached file and outside the template provided by the event will not be accepted.

DATE AND TIME OF PRESENTATION: The abstracts must be presented on the date, time and place defined and published on the congress website.

MODIFICATION OF PARTICIPANTS: The addition of participants will not be allowed in the online platform after abstract submission, even they are authors, co-authors and/or supervisor.

ABSTRACT FILE MODIFICATION: It will not be allowed to exchange files on the online platform after submission of the abstract.

IMPORTANT: All abstracts submitted to XX CBB must be carefully reviewed prior to submission.

DISCLOSURE OF THE FINAL RESULT OF THE EVALUATION OF ABSTRACTS – until December 20, 2022.

IMPORTANTThe Scientific Committee reserves the right to judge, approve, request corrections or disapprove abstracts that may be inappropriate. Thus, the possible evaluations of the submitted work will be: APPROVED, UNDER REVIEW, DENIED. In the case of the abstract is under review, the author will have 5 days to make the corrections and submit the corrected version of the abstract.

 

Submission of abstracts for the XX Brazilian Congress of Biomechanics (XX CBB)

 

MAXIMUM QUANTITY OF ABSTRACTS AS MAIN AUTHOR: 2 (two).

MAXIMUM QUANTITY OF ABSTRACTS AS CO-AUTHOR: unlimited.

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS PER SUMMARY: 6 (six) participants (including author, co-authors and advisor).

COMPLETING THE ABSTRACT ON THE PARTICIPANT AREA: When filling the submission form, you are asked to type (copying and pasting from a text file is also allowed) an abstract with a minimum of 250 and a maximum of 500 words. A maximum of two (2) bibliographic references, one (1) table or figure or graphs may be included. Do not include highlights of any kind. The abstract must be structured as follows: contextualization, objective, material and methods, results, conclusions and bibliographic references. Bibliographic references are not included in the word count. Avoid, whenever possible, the use of acronyms.

KEY-WORDS: 3 (three) to 5 (five) key-words.

ABSTRACT FILE: Abstracts without the attached file and outside the available template will not be accepted.

ABSTRACT FILE SIZE: Abstracts larger than 2MB (Mega Bytes) will not be accepted.

CONDITION FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE ABSTRACT: Only abstracts approved by the Scientific Committee will be presented. The author and co-authors must be registered in the system at the time of abstract submission. For the abstract to be presented and published in the proceedings, the author must have paid the registration fee by the deadline of the last call.

CONTENT AND COPYRIGHT: The content expressed in the submitted abstract are the responsibility of the author(s), co-author(s) and advisor, who must observe the scientific standards and the specificities for the available modalities (oral presentation and poster). The Scientific and Organizing Committees are not responsible for the content and authorship of the proposed abstracts. It is also recommended to observe the legislation regarding the "collective management of copyright" (BRASIL, 2015).

 Abstract presentation at the XX Brazilian Congress of Biomechanics (XX CBB)

 

CONDITION FOR SUBMISSION OF THE ABSTRACT: Only abstracts approved by the Scientific Committee will be presented. The author and co-authors must be registered in the system when submitting the abstract. In order for the abstract to be presented and published in the Brazilian Journal of Motor Behavior, the author must have paid the registration fee by the date of the event and must have presented the abstract during the congress. Abstracts which not be presented during the congress will not be published in the proceedings of the event.

ORAL PRESENTATION: The preparation of slides for the oral presentation is the responsibility of the author and/or co-authors. There is no pre-established template, but the author must include the LOGO OF THE EVENT on all slides of the presentation.

POSTER:  The design and production of the banner for the poster presentation is the responsibility of the author and co-authors. The poster template must indicate whether the abstract is competing for an award at the event. 

The graphic presentation of the poster must be in the form of panels, not exceeding the limit of 120 cm (height) by 90 cm (width), and at least one of the authors (duly registered) must remain at the abstract exhibition place during the presentation hour as scheduled.

The information contained therein must be legible at a distance of approximately 1.5 meters, in order to allow easy reading. The poster must present the main aspects of the research, in accordance with the abstract submitted and structured as follows:

At the top contain: title, names of all authors, institutional affiliation and LOGO OF THE EVENT.

It is recommended the minimum use of text and maximum use of diagrams, figures and tables.

Organize the information sequentially: Contextualization, Material and Methods, Results, Conclusions, Bibliographic References and Acknowledgments (when applicable).

DATE AND LOCATION: The date, place and time of the presentations will be available soon for consultation on the event website.

IMPORTANT: There will be no change of date, place and/or time.

PRESENTATION AND/OR EXHIBITION TIME:

ORAL PRESENTATION: 15 MINUTES (10 min for presentation and 5 min for questioning).

POSTER: 1 HOUR and 15 MINUTES.

EVALUATION: The Scientific Committee reserves the right to only analyze abstracts that follow the established rules and deadlines.

CHANGE OF THEMATIC AREA AND MODALITY: The scientific committee reserves the right to reclassify the thematic area and selected modality of the abstract according to the evaluation criteria.
