Demo Session: Analyzing Qualitative Data with MAXQDA

MAXQDA is a comprehensive software solution for qualitative data analysis offering a wide range of functionalities, such as manual and automated coding, memoing, visualization, AI-assisted analysis, and more. Which tools could be instrumentalized for your study, and how? This session introduces MAXQDA’s core features, demonstrates how they function and how they can be aligned with different analytical approaches.

Through a live demonstration, we will review how to code and annotate qualitative data such as texts, images and multimedia. We will explore various coding techniques, including manual, automatic, dictionary-based, and AI-assisted coding, and discuss strategies for creating and managing a category system. To examine coding patterns, we will utilize memos, segment retrieval, matrices, and visualizations. In addition, we will discuss how and when to enhance your analysis using AI-Assist, MAXQDA’s AI-Add-on for coding, summarizing and chatting with your data. By the end of the session, you will have an overview of the analytical options MAXQDA offers and how you can optimally prepare your data for creating a project.

No previous knowledge of MAXQDA or preparation is required to participate in the demo session. We encourage participants to bring their own computer if possible with a working installation of MAXQDA in case you would like to follow along.
