About SOBENA and the EVENT
The Brazilian Society of Naval Engineering - SOBENA is a non-profit technical society, operating for 61 years in the Brazilian naval, maritime and waterway sector, with recognized independence and technical excellence. SOBENA holds congresses, seminars and technical meetings, among other activities, always aiming at the development of Brazilian naval engineering, committed to environmental preservation and legal frameworks. Due to the success achieved in all previous Seminars that took place in the main Brazilian river basins, SOBENA has been carrying it out in the most diverse Brazilian cities impacted by waterway transport.
The 13th International Seminar on Inland Waterway Transport and Development - SOBENA HIDROVIÁRIO 2023 - will be held from October 30 to November 1, 2023, in Belém - PA, taking place in person and online.
The Seminar is organized every two years. We inform you that the history of the Seminar indicates an average of 400 participants. The target audience is made up of shipowners, shipyards, shipping companies, logistics companies, river port terminals, researchers, government bodies in the area of water transport and development, the Brazilian Navy, classification societies, universities and students. The purpose of the Seminar is to promote a highly qualified debate over three days on topics of interest to the various segments. The Seminar is recognized as a relevant contribution to the development of waterway transport of cargo and passengers in the country, with efficiency and safety, and respecting the environment, through the stimulation and dissemination of technological studies in the sector.
About SOBENA and MSOT Magazine
The best pre-selected papers will be forwarded for evaluation and eventual publication in our scientific journal MSOT - Marine Systems & Ocean Technology.
MSOT is a scientific journal, indexed and internationally recognized for publications of papers, offering the discussion of marine systems and ocean technology.
MSOT publishes new contributions not only in the fields of naval architecture and ocean engineering, but also civil, mechanical, electrical, material, petroleum, coastal and maritime, applied oceanography and meteorology, oceanographic engineering and applied mathematics, an award-winning journal for being reference not only in Brazil, but throughout Latin America.
SOBENA participates in the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Oceanic and Waterway Research - INPOH, in the Mobilizing Committee of the National Organization of the Petroleum Industry (ONIP), in the Naval Industry Committee of the Greater Brazil Plan, and in other forums for the formulation and discussion of strategic issues for the naval sector in Brazil.
