Saulo Fabrício da Silva Chaves is an Agronomist and Assistant Professor at the Department of Genetics of the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP). His research spans statistical genetics, applied genomics, quantitative genetics, and the breeding of perennial and vegetatively propagated species. Notably, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) working on the RTB (Roots, Tubers and Bananas) breeding project in partnership with the International Potato Center (CIP) in Uganda, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
