Elizabeth Pacheco Batista Fontes

Elizabeth Fontes de Almeida is a Food Engineer that works as a Professor and Researcher at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). Her research is focused in biochemistry and molecular genetics, exploring the mechanism of defense against geminivirus in plants. She is an expert in plant genetics and plant functional genomics. Elizabeth is a member of Brazilian Science Academy and completed master’s in Food Biochemistry at UFV and PhD in Molecular Biology at North Carolina State University.
