Prof(a). Dr(a). Werner Daves
Materials Center Leoben Forschung GmbHDr. Daves got his Ph.D. in Micromechanics and Material Modelling in 1993. After that, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Mechanics at the Mining and Metallurgy University of Leoben. Starting in 2000, he became the leader of the Wheel/Rail Interaction Group at the Materials Center Leoben. Up to now, he has supervised about 15 Ph.D. theses in this field. His expertise is related to finite element modeling, plastic behavior of materials, micromechanics, damage and fracture mechanics, nonlinear analysis, multiscale modeling, and simulation of milling with focus on tool damage and contact mechanics regarding rolling and sliding.
