Welcome to the VI Railway Engineering Symposium!
Railway: Innovation, Efficiency, and Reliability.
The Railway Engineering Symposium (SimFer) was born six years ago to disseminate research carried out by the program Cátedras of VALE S.A. Over the years, it has been structured and expanded to include innovations made in the main national railways, with a focus on heavy haul transportation on rails. It now also includes the main manufacturers and developers of wagons and components for this type of transportation. This year, we will also have a partnership with the International Heavy Haul Association (IHHA), which is a great honor for us. The IHHA will waive the registration fee for the best four papers presented at SimFer and they will also have the opportunity to show their presentation as a poster at their conference in Rio de Janeiro in August.
SimFer is a face-to-face event that focuses on the interaction between academia and the productive sector. Thus, both researchers and railway professionals linked to companies are invited to present their scientific and technological advances. The papers will be published in digital proceedings, with DOI and ISBN. Two researchers, globally recognized in their areas of expertise, will present the state of the art in their themes: Nicola Bosso (Politecnico di Torino - Italy) and Dr. Werner Daves (Materials Center Leoben - Austria).
We are happy to welcome everyone to this new edition of the event, which will take place at the Eldorado Institute in Campinas. Welcome!
