Safety and health recommendations for the trip
Consult your doctor in advance and inform them about your destination and planned route.
Vaccination requirements may change at any time.
Currently, there is no mandatory requirement for proof of vaccination to enter Brazil. However, the Ministry of Health recommends that international travelers update their vaccination status before arriving in Brazil, according to the immunization schedule of their country of origin or residence. The recommended vaccines include: yellow fever, polio, measles, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, and dengue.
Vaccination or Covid-19 tests are no longer required for entry into the country
Yellow fever
Although Brazil does not require yellow fever vaccination for entry into the country, there is a risk of infection in some areas. Vaccination is recommended for those visiting risk regions and may also be required by other countries when departing from Brazil.
Vaccination is recommended for all travelers aged 9 months and older who will visit Rio de Janeiro.
For onward travel: You may be required to show proof of vaccination upon departure, and your next destination - including your home country - may require a vaccination certificate for entry.
