The aim of this 8 hours course is to demonstrate to the participant a new pathway in applying geoprocessing and remote sensing techniques. The world of solutions focused on single path and rows, image download and visual interpretations, now incorporates cloud computing and its operational advantages. With image stacks, spectral indices, logical operators and statistical resources available to the user, the analytical capacity, the scale of work and the degree of automation have substantially increased. Thus, this mini-course will focus on brief theoretical and practical aspects, but essential to the use of Google Earth Engine (GEE), always focusing on practical example of great value to the participant. The theoretical blocks to be covered are: Choosing a classifier, Images, stacks, reducers, cloud masks, event detection vs. annual pattern detection. From a practical point of view: Image manipulation, data selection filters (Time and Space), seasonal mosaics, function parallelization (the .map), statistical reducers (min, max, median), spectral indices (NDVI), removal of clouds, BQA (Band Quality Assessmen) and supervised classification.
