11:30 to 13:40 on 04/05/2023
P-band airborne radar, which complements lidar for estimating elevation and biomass in tropical forest environments, has already been demonstrated in the Amazon and Visiona is proposing new processing algorithms. In parallel, experimental airborne campaigns have validated the European Space Agency's Biomass satellite, which should carry a P-band radar for the first time in 2024. Presentations in this session will illustrate the potential of P-band radar with examples from the Amazon, and present current developments for airborne and satellite systems. This session is supported by Visiona and CESBIO.
