Water, a material quite ubiquitous in nature, exhibits more than 70 anomalies, thermodynamic, dynamic and structural properties which differ from the behavior of other materials. In this talk we present how the heat capacity, compressibility, thermal expansion coefficient and diffusion of water behaves in an usual way. We also show that these anomalies are useful for the sustainability of life in our planet. We also show that when nanoconfined water violates the hydrodynamic equations and it can exhibit an unusual large diffusion and flow what can be employed for producing more clean water.
