Instruction

1. General Submission Guidelines šŸ“Œ

  • šŸ“ The submission system will only allow abstract submissions from authors who are already registered and have completed payment by July 31, 2025.

  • šŸ”¢ A maximum of one (1) abstract may be submitted per registration.

  • šŸŒŽ Abstracts must be written in English.

  • āŒ Duplicate submissions of the same abstract will be rejected.

  • šŸŽÆ Abstracts should align with the scientific themes of Prion 2025 (listed below).

 

2. Presentation Modalities šŸŽ¤šŸ“Š

  • šŸ—£ļø Oral Presentation: Available only for submissions with payment confirmed by June 30, 2025. Each speaker will have 10 minutes for presentation + 5 minutes for discussion.

  • šŸ“Œ Poster Presentation: Posters should be 90 cm Ɨ 120 cm (W Ɨ H) and will be displayed for the entire duration of the meeting.

  • šŸ” Selection Process for Oral Presentations: Oral presentations will undergo a peer review selection process. Authors will be informed of the final decision after evaluation. Abstracts not selected for oral presentation will be automatically reassigned as poster presentations.

  • šŸ“Œ Authors must indicate their option for oral presentation during submission.

  • šŸ“ All Abstracts must be presented as posters.

 

3. Abstract Formatting Rules šŸ–Šļø

  • šŸ“¢ Title: Concise and descriptive, in sentence case.

  • šŸ‘©ā€šŸ”¬ Authorship: List all authors in order of contribution, including institutional affiliation(s). The presenting author must be clearly identified.

  • šŸ“„ Body of Abstract: Maximum 250 words, including the following sections:

    • šŸ“– Introduction: Context and relevance of the study.

    • šŸŽÆ Objectives: Clearly stated research objectives.

    • šŸ”¬ Methods: Key methodologies employed.

    • šŸ“Š Results/Discussion: Quantitative or substantial qualitative findings and interpretation.

    • āœ… Conclusion: Significance of results.

  • 🚫 Figures and Tables: Not allowed.

  • āŒ References: Should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

  • šŸ’° Funding Information: If applicable, funding sources should be acknowledged at the end of the abstract.

 

4. Scientific Themes šŸ”¬

Abstracts must relate to at least one of the following topics:

  • 🧠 Neuropathology of Prion Diseases

  • 🧬 Functional Protein Aggregation in Yeast and Mammalian Systems

  • šŸ”¬ Protein Structure, Function, Conversion, and Dysfunction

  • šŸ”„ Spreading of Pathology in Prion-like Disorders

  • 🦠 Pathogenic Mechanisms in Prion and Prion-like Diseases

  • šŸ„ Animal Prion Diseases

  • 🩺 Biomarkers for Prion and Other Neurodegenerative Diseases

  • šŸ’Š Therapeutic Approaches for Prion and Prion-like Diseases

 

5. Review Process and Selection Criteria šŸ…

Submitted abstracts will undergo peer review by the Scientific Committee, which reserves the right to accept, reject, or suggest changes to the presentation format. Abstracts will be evaluated based on:

  • šŸ† Scientific merit and originality.

  • šŸŽÆ Relevance to the congress themes.

  • 🧪 Quality of methodology and results.

  • šŸŒ Potential impact on the field of prion research.

  • āœļø Clarity and coherence of the abstract.

7. Submission Process šŸ“©

  • šŸ“Ž Abstracts must be submitted via the official Prion 2025 submission portal.

  • ā³ The deadline for submission is July 31, 2025.

  • šŸ“¢ Authors will be notified of acceptance and presentation details by September 15, 2025.
