Description: The session is dedicated to provide updates following expert discussion on human epidemiology, diagnosis, biosafety, emerging biomarkers, and neuropathology.

Format and duration: Presentations/update and structured discussion/4 hours

Target audience: Members of ICSN and potential new members (clinicians, epidemiologists, neuropathologists)

Relevance: Occurrence of new forms of human prion diseases, development of new therapeutic approaches
