Objective: The panel aims to explore the latest developments in germplasm, genetics, and macaúba breeding research. Focusing on sustainability, the panel will discuss innovative strategies to explore natural diversity and optimize desirable characteristics of macaúba, promoting greater efficiency in production. Additionally, challenges and opportunities for advancing the domestication of major macaúba species, with the development of varieties that contribute to sustainable and ecologically balanced production, will be discussed.
