Pharmacist and PhD in Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Post-doctorate in the area of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance at the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM) - Sèvres - France. He was head of the Chemical and Thermal Metrology Division of the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO) where he is currently a researcher in the field of organic analysis. He worked in doping control and analysis of residues in food at LADETEC - LAB DOP (currently LBCD) at UFRJ and participated in the technical team responsible for the doping control analyses at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. He is among the 12 members chosen worldwide for the Laboratory Expert Group of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). He has served as a visiting scientist at the BIPM (France) and at the National Research Council Canada (NRC). Extensive experience in instrumental methods for organic analysis, statistical data evaluation, drug metabolism and toxicology. He is a Young Scientist of Our State (Faperj-2021) and a professor at Inmetro's Graduate Program in Biotechnology. He acts as an expert assessor on the ISO 17025 standards for accreditation of testing laboratories and 17034 for the accreditation of producers of reference materials.
