Prof. Dr. Lazhar Zourgui

Doctor Lazhar Zourgui, is Full professor in Gabes university Tunisia, set up a research team "Macromolecular and genetic biochemistry" at the University of Gafsa from 2005 to 2012, then he created a research laboratory at the University of Gabes, whom he has directed since 2014. Born August 01, 1956, in Bir lahmar -Tunisia, graduated with a PHD in Biochemistry in 1984 at the University of Bordeaux-France, and a Doctorat of Science in Biochemistry and molecular biology in 1988 at the University of Tunis-Tunisia. In 1987 to the present day, Professor Zourgui has ensured his role as a teacher and researcher in various universities,

The main theme of his research is the evaluation of the biological activities of the cactus (Opuntia) as well as the purification and identification of biomolecules from cactus (Cladodes, fruits, seeds, fruits, etc.) having beneficial activities for humans such as that the antioxidant activity, anti diabetic, anti obesity and anti cancer….), Professor Zourgui is the author of 65 international articles and books; as well as 101 communications in international conferences, Pr Zourgui was the mentor of 35 doctoral works and Maters, coordinators of 2 European projects
