Carolina Santos Silva

Analytical chemist with a PhD from the Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil) and over ten years of experience in developing advanced analytical methods. With expertise on vibrational spectroscopy (including Raman, MIR, NIR, and hyperspectral imaging) combined with multivariate analysis and machine learning for chemical data (chemometrics). I have been developing and deploying MATLAB-based model for regression, classification, variable selection, and hyperspectral data processing. Currently, I am a research scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, working on optical spectroscopy and the commercialization of hyperspectral imaging technologies (particular active hyperspectral systems with supercontinuum laser sources). My work spans applications in mining, forensics, circular economy, and increasingly food analysis.
