Universidade Federal do Paraná
Giovana Gioppo Nunes

I hold a Bachelor's and Licentiate degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Paraná - UFPR (1997), a Master's degree in Chemistry from UFPR (2000), and a PhD in Chemistry from UFPR (2004). I also completed postdoctoral research in Chemistry at Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet, SLU, Sweden (2006), and in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UFPR (2009). Currently, I am an Associate Professor IV in the Department of Chemistry at UFPR. I served as president of the Sectoral Research Committee of the Exact Sciences Sector and as a representative in the Research and Postgraduate Studies Coordination of UFPR from 2021 to 2025. My research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of inorganic compounds such as metal alkoxides and polyoxometalates, including homo- and heterometallic compounds of oxidovanadium(IV), vanadium(V), and mixed valence (IV/V). These compounds are primarily studied for applications in medicinal, bioinorganic, and environmental chemistry. Supervisor: Doctorate completed (5), doctorate in progress (4), master's degree completed (7), master's degree in progress (1), scientific work of undergraduate students (33), post-doctoral internship (1). Co-supervisor: Doctorate completed (8), doctorate in progress (1), master's degree completed (9), master's degree in progress (1), scientific work of undergraduate students (3).
