Búzios is located 170 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro, a pleasant 3–4 hour trip by road. The town can be reached by regular public bus services departing from Rio de Janeiro’s main bus terminal (NOVO RIO Bus Station) or from Tom Jobim International Airport (Galeão – GIG). Ride‑hailing services such as Uber are also widely used between the two cities.
