Fernando Batista da Costa

Professor Fernando da Costa acts at Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo. He was Guest Professor at Institute of Pharmaceutical Biology and Phytochemistry, University of Münster, Germany, (2012–2013). He holds his Post Doctoral from University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, (2003–2005), Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry (Natural Products Chemistry) from University of São Paulo (1992–1996), and Master Degree in Organic Chemistry (Natural Products Chemistry) from University of São Paulo (1989–1992). His research experience are: Phytochemistry: extraction, isolation and purification of secondary metabolites from higher plants using chromatographic / hyphenated techniques; compound identification by spectroscopic methods; dereplication/annotation and plant metabolomics; and Chemoinformatics: use of data sets of small organic molecules for modeling and property prediction by machine learning tools and data mining.
