Vanderlan da Silva Bolzani is full professor at Sao Paulo State University (UNESP). Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), member of the Brazilian Academy of Science (ABC), São Paulo Academy of Science (ACIESP), the World Academy of Science for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries (TWAS), and Latino American Academy of Science (ACAL, initials in Spanish). She is CNPq Fellow level 1A, and has received several awards, highlighting most recent: Winner the Latin-American women's award in chemistry, awarded by Latin American Society of Chemistry/American Chemical Society - 2021; Prize Vanderlan da Silva Bolzani, created by the Brazilian Chemical Society (SBQ) to honor Brazilian women in Chemistry and correlated areas – 2019; Prize Otto R. Gottlieb Medal, created due to the contribution to Natural Products Chemistry in Brazil and abroad – 2017; Prize Kurt Politzer - Technological Innovation Award, category research, ABIQUIM - 2015; CAPES-Elsevier Award for the contributions to science in Brazil-2014; Distinguished Woman in Science Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, ACS/IUPAC (2011), who was awarded with 16 outstanding women scientists, including the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2009 Professor Ada Yonath (Department of Structural Biology, Weizmann Institute of Science); Simão Mathias Medal, the highest honor conferred by Brazilian Chemical Society (2011). Graduated in Pharmacy by UFPB, Northeast of Brazil, she got Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, under guidance of Professor Otto Richard Gottlieb, at University of São Paulo. Member of the Coordination of Biota-FAPESP Program (1998-2021). Director of the UNESP Technology Transfer Office 2013-2016 (UNESP-AUIN). President of the FUNFUNESP, UNESP 2017-2021. In 2018 was elected to be member of the FAPESP Board of Trustees (2018-2022). In 2018 was awarded with the Medal of Scientific Merit - Commander Category, the highest distinction given by the President of the Brazil to a Brazilian scientist, she is included among the 2% of Brazilian scientists worldwide. Her field of interest is natural products chemistry and plant science, and she has had strong involvement in human resource training, with over 100 Master and PhD students and 60 post-doctoral supervisions. She has been invited to give lectures and seminars Worldwide. Has published 341 articles, h-index = 60 for 12,731 citations, and average citations per article = 28.21; 2 books; 5 book chapters and 4 patents, 1 issued for a Germany Company. President of the Brazilian Chemical Society from 2008-2010 is currently Counselor member, was Vice-President of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science 2017-2019 (SBPC, in Portuguese). She serves as member of Editorial Boards of several Scientific Journals as Journal Natural Products. In 2011 was visiting professor at UPMC, Paris VI, Paris, and in 2012 became member of the International L’Oreal Scientific Advisory Board, Paris-FR, for 10 years. In the last 15 years has been coordinating big national and international projects: 03 Thematic Biota-FAPESP; currently, 01 INCT-CNPq/FAPESP, and is currently vice-coordinator of CBIFar, a long-term project into the CEPID Fapesp Program under Coordination of Professor Glaucius Oliva, IF-USP, São Carlos, 03 International Projects Brazil/Germany DAAD/FAPESP / DFG - Deutsche.
