Diogo Montes Vidal

Diogo M. Vidal is currently a tenured Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil). He worked as a visiting Jr. Professor at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany (CAPES/PrInt) in 2019/2020. Diogo graduated in Chemistry (2009), holds a master's (2012) and a Ph.D. degree (2016), and has Postdoc experience (2016/2017), both from the Federal University of Parana, Brazil. In 2009 Diogo developed research projects as an undergraduate researcher at UC Davis (USA), funded by a bilateral Brazil/USA program (CAPES/FIPSE). Part of his Ph.D. thesis was developed at TU Braunschweig (Germany), funded by the Brazilian Program "Science Without Borders" (2015). Since 2017, Diogo has been the Faculty Advisor of the ACS Student Chapter UFMG. Nowadays Diogo is a Councillor of the Latin American Association of Chemical Ecology (2016/2025) and recently served as vice-secretary of the Minas Gerais Local Section of the Brazilian Chemical Society (2020/2022). Diogo is experienced in Chemistry, with emphasis on isolation, identification, synthesis, and biosynthesis of natural products related to chemical ecology
