MICHELLE FRAZÃO MUZITANO

Michelle F. Muzitano has a degree in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2002), a Ph.D. in Natural Products Chemistry from the Natural Products Research Institute - UFRJ and from the Università Degli Studi di Firenze - Italy (2006) and a Post-Doctorate at Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2008). She is currently Associate Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Campus Macaé. She is a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (UFRJ, Campus Fundão) and Bioactive Products and Biosciences at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, Campus Macaé), from which acted as coordinator from 2017-2019, and is currently vice coordinator. She also works as a counselor at CEPG, Council for Graduates UFRJ. She participated in the UFRJ Macaé Campus in the Implementation of the Pharmacy Course, the Bioactive Products Group and the Postgraduate Program in Bioactive Products and Biosciences. Coordinates the Laboratory of Bioactive Products since 2009 and is leader of the research group on Bioactive Products registered and certified in the Directory of Research Groups in Brazil CNPq. She has projects in collaboration with national and international institutions, one of them funded by CAPES PrInt, and she is a Young Scientist of Our State at FAPERJ. Has experience in Pharmacognosy and Natural Products, acting on the following subjects: Medicinal plants, Research on New Drugs and Herbal Medicines, Flavonoids, Tuberculosis and Immunopharmacology.
