CLAUDIA MORAES DE REZENDE

Full Professor at the Institute of Chemistry at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She was a researcher at the Sousa Cruz SA Research Center (1983-2005). From this time on, she joined UFRJ, was coordinator of the postgraduate program in Organic Chemistry. She develops research in the areas of Coffee Chemistry; Aroma Chemistry; Flavors; Chemistry of Natural Products and Essential Oils; Studies of biological activity and coffee metabolism. Approaches via Gas Chromatography, Olfactory Gas Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, CG x CG, Mass Spectrometry, Metabolomics and Lipidomics. Isolation of secondary metabolites, chemical transformations and scale-up. Nosso Estado scientist by FAPERJ since 2014 and 1C researcher at CNPq. From 2008 to 2014, she held the positions of first secretary, treasurer and vice president of the Brazilian Chemical Society, currently serving on the deliberative board. She was on the board of the Brazilian Society of Mass Spectrometry (BRMass) between 2014-2018. In 2011, she coordinated the International Year of Chemistry-Brazil project through SBQ. She is the scientific editor of the journal Ciência Hoje and Ciência Hoje das Crianças do ICH. Coordinator of the project Moleculetes for scientific dissemination on social networks. Member of the Council of Graduates at UFRJ.
