Special Session 1 - Climate crisis and political neoconservatism: present perplexities and paths of resistance in education

The session proposes a space for exchange and critical reflection on the intertwining between the climate crisis and the advance of political neoconservatism in the contemporary scenario and its implications for the educational field. It seeks to debate the impact of denialist, authoritarian and extractivist discourses and policies in discussions and practices and at the same time sharing investigations, pedagogical practices and collective experiences that point to alternative paths — ethical, educational, aesthetic and political — capable of tensioning the imperatives of the present and activating other ways of inhabiting the planet. With a transdisciplinary focus, it opens up to a dialogue between different knowledges committed to climate justice and education for the invention of possible futures.
