Crossings of whiteness and the anti-racist struggle in research in Mathematics Education

When we analyze and delve into the history of the constitution of the Brazilian people, we are realizing that for many years whiteness, with its academic and scientific privileges, has become the holder of different knowledge, in all areas of knowledge that are treated at different levels of education. In the area of Mathematics Education, based on research that has been developed both with a focus on Ethnomathematics and on the History of Mathematics and, with the entry of black and indigenous researchers into universities, we are gradually realizing that the time has come to decolonize the Mathematics curricula, with the implementation of an Anti-racist Mathematics Education, tearing off the shackles of Eurocentrism, coloniality and structural and institutional racism.
