Prof. Dr. Montserrat Filella

University of Geneva
Montserrat Filella

Lecture topics: From Natural Waters to Plastic Products, New Challenges in the Speciation of Antimony and Germanium

She is a research associate at the F.-A. Forel Department of the University of Geneva (Switzerland). She is an analytical chemist by training and environmental chemist by choice.
Her main research interests focus on understanding the physicochemical processes that regulate the behaviour of chemical compounds in environmental compartments. Her early work focused mainly on the acquisition and preservation of kinetic and thermodynamic data related to metal complexation and on the study of colloids and natural organic matter in natural waters. Later, her interests diversified to include the study of the chemistry and environmental fate of some less studied TCEs (Ta, Nb, Sb, Ge, Te) and of inorganic additives in plastics and their fate. She has published about 250 scientific papers, book chapters and books, presented numerous papers at international scientific meetings and conferences and organised many special sessions and symposia at/for international conferences/meetings.

8th EspeQBrasil and 17th RSAS Galoá

8th Brazilian Meeting on Chemical Speciation and the 17th Rio Symposium on Atomic Spectrometry uses Galoá to painless manage and increase the impact of the event.
