Prof. Dr. Jörg Feldmann

Institute of Chemistry , University of Graz Austria
Jörg Feldmann

Lecture topics: "Unravelling Environmental Speciation: A Multi-Technique Approach to Mercury in Pipeline Decommissioning"

It will cover the mass balance approach of doing fluorine speciation. Background of the PFAS problem. It will cover ICPMS (BaF+), negative ion ICPMS, HR GFMAS, CIC for total F and EOF, and how to do state of the art LC-MS/MS and QC/QA for PFAS analysis. Some aspects of LC-HRMS will also be mentioned.

Jörg Feldmann is the head of the Institute of Chemistry at the University of Graz, Austria, and was previously chair of Environmental Chemistry at the University of Aberdeen. With over 50 Ph.D. students graduated under his guidance, he has authored over 350 papers with an h-index of 78. His research focuses on using atomic spectrometry for speciation analysis, particularly for elements like arsenic, mercury, and PFAS. He is the recipient of numerous awards and was elected to the Scottish Academy of Science and Public Life.

8th EspeQBrasil and 17th RSAS Galoá
