Professor and researcher at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, in Florianópolis, Brazil. Research topics include atomic spectrometry and inorganic mass spectrometry, focused on the investigation of spectrometric processes, alternative sample preparation strategies and sample introduction systems, including photochemical vapor generation and the analysis of solid samples. Has supervised over 30 students and holds an h index of 31, with over 2700 citations to his publications.
