Edenir Rodrigues Pereira Filho

Lecture topics: ''Spectrometry devoted to Solid Sampling''

Ph.D. holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUC-Campinas, Brazil), an M.Sc. in Chemistry (1999) from Campinas State University (Unicamp), and an M.Sc. in Mathematics (2022) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). He completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Unicamp in 2003, including research at the Institute of Spectrochemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (ISAS) in Dortmund, Germany. Since 2006, he has been a key member of UFSCar’s Chemistry Department, supervising over 50 students and publishing more than 200 peer-reviewed papers. His research focuses on Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS), chemometrics, sample preparation, hyperspectral imaging, and food and environmental analysis, with significant contributions to waste electronic and electrical equipment (WEEE) recycling. In 2023, he was promoted to Full Professor at UFSCar. Beyond academia, Edenir runs a YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/EdenirPereiraFilho), where he shares expertise on design of experiments (DoE), bibliometric investigation, data science and WEEE recycling.
