Luzineide Wanderley Tinoco
UFRJ – Brazil – Medicinal ChemistryLuzineide holds a BSc in Chemistry from UERJ. She completed her MSc and PhD degrees in Chemistry, specializing in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, at the Military Institute of Engineering. She conducted her Postdoctoral research at the Institute of Medical Biochemistry of UFRJ in the field of protein NMR, and a Senior Internship at the University of California Riverside, focusing on metabolomics. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at UFRJ and a CNPq research fellow 2. She served as the Director of the Institute of Natural Product Research (IPPN) from 2018 to 2022. Her research focuses on the identification, quantification, and structural determination of natural products in crude extracts using NMR. She also conducts studies on intermolecular interactions and structural determination of peptides and proteins by NMR. Her research projects include the search for inhibitors for nucleoside hydrolase and ornithine decarboxylase enzymes of Leishmania, Mpro and PLpro of SARS-CoV-2, and human AAK1.
